about

We want to share with you this special album from 2016. Idea was to record contemporary classical music on analogue synths, legendary Korg MS-20, Juno 60 and Yamaha CS-15. It was a challenge to play some very fast and virtuoso parts because of the character of these wonderful instruments made in 80s that were used only in popular music before.
Already in 2013 we started to make arrangements of the pieces for synths and played a couple of great concerts (November Music Festival, Den Bosch, Music Biennale Zagreb). Soon after we choose to record pieces by our friends and great composers Marc Mellits (Chicago, US), Antonio Correa (Bogota, Columbia) and Kim Helweg (Copenhagen, Denmark). Pieces "Red" and "Maquina III" by Marc and Antonio we arranged for synths and than Kim wrote completely new piece "Mechanical Destruction", that he called an "analog synth symphony". It was a big, symphonic piece and made a good balance with minimalistic and futuristic sound of other pieces on the album. We always admired music by G. Ligeti, so we thought that two famous pieces originally written for harpsichord ("Continuum" and "Hungarian Rock") will sound more edgy on synths. Album was finished and released in 2016.
